What I really wanted for Christmas was another woman's voice to tell me what to do. So that's what my wife got me. It's actually helping me today.
Dredged them in flour and browned them in olive oil. Made a sauce to pour over them for baking in the oven
My family is pushing me to make this bread. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/christmas-star-twisted-bread/ So tomorrow, I am baking. We'll see how it turns out.
Made some Adouille, Red Beans and rice (close to jambalaya without the chicken and shrimp and also some stuffed peppers (for those who can’t handle the spice). Yummy! Of course, I forgot to take the pics until everything was half eaten
Has anyone ever eaten, or attempted to eat, one of those giant restaraunt "FREE if you eat it all" steaks?
Put some bacon on it... I might give it a shot. Otherwise, never tried. My eyes Are smaller than my stomach.
I have mentioned the local PBS show 'Tim Farmer's Country Kitchen'. He does lots of cowboy cooking. I decided to break in my new dutch oven with his bread recipe. I let it sit 4+ hours per instructions. Some recipes I saw called for 8-12 hours. Then attempted to hit 425 degrees F ( 7200 Celsius). Glad I built a fire ahead of cooking time. I had to improvise 'Forged in Fire' a lid picker upper thingy. 45 minutes later with dabs of butter I give it a B+. https://www.timfarmerscountrykitchen.com/
I'd consider that purty dang good, fer first try, outta th gate... Bakin is a lot more finicky than jus cookin, ya done dang dang good, sez I
Same bread recipe as last week except oven baked this week. I used charcoal outside last week when it was around freezing (32 F, -37 C) which proved tough to maintain 425 F (37 C). 425 inside worked well. You may be able to smell it.
