Did they ever fix the four thousand holes in Blackburn Lancashire?
Cats are now in a 4-month-short-outside-visit .
Do you know how annoying it is that one line from a crap Beatles song is almost all most people know about Lancashire?
It's very crunchy on the right side of the Pennines. The snow froze over by mid afternoon and the temperature still hasn't risen. I can't remember snow this early for many years.
Yeah @beagle, same here - everything suddenly went crunchy and frozen mid afternoon. More to come apparently
Oh joy' I'm confined to the house until it's gone, I'm not safe walking on snow and ice.
You take care amidst the snow and ice beagle and everyone else affected.
Perhaps we should bring musical greats like " She's a lassie from Lancashire " to the notice of the masses. George Formby classics like " Leaning on the Lampost " and " When I'm cleaning windows ".
But as Dire Straits sang in their lyrics " it's not what they call Rock n Roll ".
Lonnie Donegan ......... I rest my case and nip off for another beer ........
Let me know when it's time to break out the Gracie Fields...
So much for global warming I'd say. Damn that's cold.
Sorry, I didn't mean my reply to sound like I doubted you, I meant it was strange that you mentioned Wales at more or less the same time as Col messaged me from Wales.
My daughter and her family live in Wales.
That's most like zero celcius which is 32°F.
I think the term "global warming" has been replaced with "climate change".
Ah yes sorry … I should have remembered you Fahrenheit enthusiasts - yes indeed that’s only Zero Celsius. And tonight it’s minus 4deg C which is about 25deg F. And more snow and ice.
we dodged a bullet tonight. Yes, it was just a small caliber, a BB really but it missed just the same. Yay. Every day without snow is a victory to be savored.
We got another three inches of snow yesterday afternoon, over the frozen snow from the day before. Another day stuck indoors...
It snowed up in Ithaca, NY while we were visiting after Thanksgiving. Especially up high at the tree farm we like. More than a few inches on the ground while we were there. Nice atmosphere for selecting a Christmas tree, but I'd prefer to wait a bit longer for any accumulation of snow down here where we live.
Crews and the military are busy everywhere here repairing damage after major flooding.

That looks like a boatyard/storage area to me. The boats are far too neatly arranged to have been storm tossed, to my eye at least.
