The blue and the yellow would have been my first choices, too. I still see a couple of others, though...
You getting one?
Thank you no!!!
why the gold hardware?
only one 3 pup, and it had gold hardware…
Thanks. Strangely I don't really see that posted on one of the smaller FF groups I belong to ... but it's not the main one. That 3-pickup one (the sold-out yellow) is interesting to me as I don't really have an SG type, although I do have an older Ibanez GAX-70 which has a somewhat similar shape, and I have no yellow guitars at all and I have no 3-pickup guitars with humbuckers.
But being this is the first of its type I expect, as with many launches of any new product, for it to have some extra problems. I've always been told to wait a while for a product, if possible, to be launched for somebody to work out the bugs inherent with the product.
I'm tempted, but I have too many guitars and need to cull the herd.
I do like the trans black though:
Man tempted too by the green flame top or the spalt. Too bad I just bought that SG.
Too bad ? You don't like it ?
LOL ... two of them a missing the reflector on one knob. This is like Russian Roulette.
That green is nice. I wish they’d make a bass version. Then again, I’m glad they don’t. I don’t need the GAS!
More of a LTD Viper shape than an SG to me. I do like the trans black and silverbursts, but I prefer the traditional SG shape.
No it will take me a minute to hustle my way into some more GAS money, I will also have to decide which guitars get turned out to fill the coffer....
Probably true. I wonder what FF used for its model designation. The company uses "338" instead of 335 I guess to avoid problems with Gibson and Epiphone; FFHB for its hollow-body, 2-P90 guitar; FFLP for its Les Paul clone and FFTH for its semi-hollow body Telecaster clone. I think there was also a FFTHP that had two P-90 pickups.
But FFLG? Firefly Less Good? Firefly Like a Gibson? I dunno ....
It is rare that a wannabe has a great overall shape. This one has beautiful bevels. The slanted ass works for me. It's the horns that bug me. That feature is a fine tuned balance between both horns and it is off here. I had a Jay Turser Custom SG that played great, had one of the best fat neck but the symmetrical horns had me sell it.
Like for the LP shape, there's a line that can't be crossed before it looks bad. I think Rondo got it right with theis smaller bout.
Fire Fly Lucifer Guitar. Never liked the horns. Never had an SG copy, much less an actual SG. If the evil one had a guitar it would be a knock off of an SG.
The original 3 pickup Gibson's had gold hardware.
I like that, a Lucifer guitar. You know I didn't really notice that the two horns are not the same. The more I look at it, the more the O.D. in me swells up and the more I really don't care for it that much. Oh, well.
Even a Gibson/Epiphone SG will have offset horns, just not as severe as these. These are more like an ESP/LTD Viper
You hated the Firefly you just got and then you give the same guys a huge promo?
I don't get it.
