Notice I didn't say "BEST". What works for you may not work for me, and that's just fine. Music is probably the most subjective thing in the world, and sparks more discussions, opinions, and downright arguments than anything else I can think of. I'm just interested to see what yanks the cranks of the good folks of ST! I'll list my top 3, in order.
1: The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East. No surprise to anybody who's ever seen me post on here, this is my all-timer. The band was at the height of their power. Their improvisational skills, musicianship, and passion for the music raised their live performances to a majestic level.

2: Little Feat Waiting for Columbus. Lowell George was in good health, his slide work was just blistering, their special blend of rock, funk, jazz, and folk was amazing, and this tour featured the Tower of Power Horns! Don't get much better.

3: Edgar Winter's White Trash Roadwork. Some excellent R&B inspired music, with a low-down greasy horn section, Edgar's voice, keys and sax. Rick Dehringer was killing it, and even features Brother Johnny on his comeback from his early, well-documented issues. Great, late Friday Night drinkin' music!

    O.K., let's see yours!

I am not a fan of most live albums, but I love this one. Iron Maiden’s Live After Death.

One of my all time favorites. I love when live albums have high quality sound. This album has that "quality" live sound. And the fact that two comedians pulled off such a fantastic album.

Rush : Exit Stage Left. I was there for that show and it was amazing...
It was filmed March 27, 1981, at the Montreal Forum, in Montréal, Québec.

Definitely "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" by the Stones. Also "The Doors In Concert". And let's not forget "Lou Reed Rock N Roll Animal".

ABB live at Fillmore east is probably my first pick but Lee Michaels self titled is a close second. If memory serves, while this album was not recorded in front of a live audience it was recorded live in one take. In an empty auditorium, the night before the show. Check out his rendition of Stormy Monday. At 21:36

His band for that RnR Animal album was awesome! Most of them came from a band called Catfish, I believe, and went on to form Detroit with Mitch Ryder, another great album.
