Nailed IT ! ! !
Dang! I'm about 20 minutes from there and only about $200 short.
He hasn't replied back. I'm getting upset.
Maple Mexican in Maroon ! ! ! get her eddie ! ! !
Yeah, those Northport people are on their own schedule.
That seems too good to be true.
I've picked up some insane "too good to be true" deals this past weekend. I'm not finished. The fire sales are unreal. People are literally giving gear away.
It's the post Christmas fire sales.
Birmingham is awful for this. Almost never any deals. Typical is a 2002 Affinity for $200.
Try to get a whole combo with a good condition SP-10 - as long as you don't turn them up to high they can sound really good !
NYC is a HUGE market. Affinity's running for $60.
I don't know what to do now. I have enough guitars to last me a life time. There's really nothing more I would want ... unless the maroon MIM guy calls me back. ha ha
What am I gonna surf for now ???
When I lived in ATL, deals were everywhere. Birmingham is completely different. It's a town of PT Barnums all looking for suckers.
Maybe in a thriving economy like ATL, people are more readily able to upgrade and then sell off the old guitars more readily. Perhaps that is not so true in Birmingham? Not casting aspersions, just wondering out loud. I'm curious since I had been thinking about whether a place with a depressed local economy like Detroit or cities in the rust belt would be good places to shop for used guitars.
Here're a few deals for you:
Affinity Strat for $40 ...
5.7 million people in the Atlanta metro. Only 1.2 million people in Birmingham... If your lookin for low prices on used gear ya usually want to look into the bigger metro areas where options are constantly poppin up left and right...
Yeah, we have 8 million in NYC, another 1-2 million in LI, and another 1-2 million in Northern Jersey and lower Westchester. It's all about the population.
Then, Philly is only a 2 hour drive away. Take a nice road trip, get some cheese steak and snag a sweet deal on something pretty.
Taco Lasagna - with sour cream and black olives - leftovers !
