Did anyone get anything special for Cyber Monday? I was highly tempted at the 15% FGN LPC ... but in the end, I didn't pull the trigger. I simply can't justify a $1150 guitar at this point. I'm quite happy with my $80 Squiers.
Cyber what? ... Nothing for me. No, I take that back. I got that $1.99 monthly deal from Hulu. Last night I started watching old episodes of The Twilight Zone. Rod Serling grew up near me in Binghamton. The bus station in the city, an Art Deco building, is even used in one of the episodes.
At MusicianFriend, they have the Affinity Strat/Tele in Lake Placid Blue on back order reserve for $149/$179. Thats pretty close to what they go for used. I am thinking of getting the Strat to move a modded loaded pickguard (see pic) to from my NC4 (going to sell). The Affiity necks seem to fit my hand better these days (post surgery).
Glarry had their strat cases for 54 shipped, but I think that was the lowest I saw. I looked for a deal on Reverb with their 25off50 code, but shipping killed pretty much anything I found GC has an SG case on sale right now, but yeah, not much else to be found.
I did find a find a decent ABS Gator case on Amazon for $30 off so I bought it. Back to regular price today.
I had big plans for cyber monday but ended up not buying anything. None of the pedals I wanted were discounted over 10% and I didn't see any crazy guitar deals like in previous years.
I’ve been holding back on any sort of extra spending while I wait to hear if I got the job I interviewed for. Not that I’m struggling financially with my current job, but there’s not much room in the budget for gratuitous spending....plus I picked up a sweet peavey T-20 for $120 locally, so I’d have a hard time justifying buying more gear anyway. I did get my wife a nice cashmere sweater at a good sale price for cyber Monday though!
No deals for me either. Would have loved the FGN, but can't be spending a grand. I just signed my middle girl up for SHSAT classes at $2500, and she's going to need Ortho-K (sp?) for her eyes. That's another $2000 down the tubes. So the best I can hope for is for some cheapo NC's to pop up.
ha ha. It's good to be reminded of what's important and why we do things. But man, think of all the Gibson Les Paul Customs I could have with the expenses these kids rack up.

Well 2 actually, both Black, but 1 has major chipping and scratching. I plan on stripping that one and going either cream or daphne.
