I have a 2014 BSB 50s and it’s my main guitar. Unfortunately it was modded by someone before I got hold of it, so I can’t be sure it wasn’t a dog before they worked on it.

The neck is original and it’s very nice. I also subbed to you channel as Brian G.

Not sure about that. I recently got two of the Indonesian CV’s (60’s Thinline and 50’s BSB Tele) and both are really nice guitars. Hard to imagine how they could be much better. The Thinline has become my most played electric.
Thanks for the input. That's very interesting. I have heard from some sources that their Indonesian CVs have a few shortcomings, which I've never heard said about early Chinese CVs. I think in light of this I would have to revise my assessment to perhaps an inconsistent QCing?
There may well be more to the story. It's of course possible there are more than one factory in Indonesia, and some have better product than others? Happy to learn more on this. Perhaps I should delve into the serial nos. They sometimes reveal the factory of origin.

That's a lovely guitar. In fact in the vid at the top of this thread, my friend Juri mentions his BSB CV 50s Tele from around the same era. I actually gave him the tip to buy it. He loves it too. I've played it and it is as good as any Tele I've ever had in my hands.
Also. Thanks so much for the sub on the channel. Every one helps!
I'm planning to review all my Squiers on the channel at some point, not least my JV, A series, Showmaster, multiple Korean strats (E7 and E10 serial nos from Young Chang, S9 from Samick), as well as a bunch of sweet vintage German Beat guitars, Hofners, Kliras, Framus. Then onto my 79s Guild SG, late 80s Fender strat etc etc etc!

I have a CV Thinline from 2011 from China and a 2022 from Indonesia. The Chinese one has darker wood and better pickups with stagerd poles and make by Toneright. Now the Indonesia one still sound good and the neck is roasted maple. Just needed some final nut cleaning and light polishing of a few frets that were rough. 20221211_102504.jpg

That's great. Thanks for the info. Adds some more flesh on the bare bones of my knowledge of these. I'm really fascinated by this.
Although it sounds like the Indonesian guitars are also great, there do seem to be one or two minor shortcomings popping up here and there.
But I am yet to hear of a single flaw on an early run CV from China!

I've had a few of both. Teles and Strats. Some of both were perfect out of the box, others, both Indo snd China had small issues... nut, frets set up etc. I.personally think quality wise they are pretty equal.

I'm in the minority, I actually prefer my latest Indo CV Teles (50s butterscotch, 60s custom, 70s custom) to any Chinese models I owned. (Tele wise I had the 50s and 60s). To me, they just play, feel and sound better. I really really love the neck profiles of the Indo ones. My early run Chinese 60s Custom tele was beautiful, but the neck was the thinnest neck (depth wise) of any guitar I've ever owned, I hated it.

Maybe, I got lucky with my latest Indo Classic Vibes, but they are by far my favorite Squiers to date! BTW, I Also have an early Japanes Squier Strat, snd the rare Mexican one that has "Fender" in large print and "Squier" in small print on the headstock... like the Indos better than those too.

Wow. Orange huh? I wouldn't have thought that Squier missed the mark that poorly. Have you seen them in person? I only ask since pics often don't present well on some screens. Regards.
No I haven’t seen them in person but plenty of posts after PAS sale.

But here is Sweetwater well lit photos for reference. Haven’t seen anything of that guitar model at all close to the picture above, ever.

😲 Wow! I can see why you're looking for a first gen CV Thinline. Those new 2nd gen are very orange. Must be the finish or is Squier using something other than mahogany now?

Beautiful collection.
Yes, I really like the sound of the Tonerider pickups. I'm interested to know if they are still shipped as stock in the Indonesian CVs.

That's very interesting. A thumbs up for the Indonesian CVs then. Good to know!

They have been made out of Nyatoh, which they call Nato but not really, for a few years. The Tonerider's were made for them unbranded. They haven't been used in years also. :D
