color and relic mod:
Today i received the Squier decal and matched my headstock with the body color:
wow, thats really awesome!
Did the same with my sunburst Jagmaster:
Anyone know if the Fender Mustang necks will fit on the Bullet?
Guy if it has a fender spec neck pocket it will fit. And i would think it does .
I have seen this before. Nice refin!
I wonder if this bridge is the same one fitted to the Squier 51, where the string pushes the saddle up as well as down.
What many folk, including me, did with these bridges was the Bubba Mod, which turns it into a top-load three saddle set up, a bit like the Duo-Sonic
Might just have to get me one of these Mustangs. Memories of a Musicmaster I had over 30 odd years ago, in fact the single front pickup style mod, might be another one you could do with this guitar.
Tried a search but cant find the " bubba mod" process, Im guessing drill the back of the bridge plate to enable the fitting three Tele saddles! Cool idea, my Mustang saddles are so cheap, the height adjuster screws, adjust themselves down due to string vibration, could use loctite I suppose, but like the bubba vibe....
Works a treat IMO, done it to several topload guitars with this style of bridge.
My old Musicmaster had the three saddle bridge, never gave me a problem, neither does my '51 nor my beater Squier Affinity Tele that I added a three saddle topload bridge to.
Leo got it right first time;-)
Thanks Sollophonic, I'm a big fan of three saddle bridges both full and half size, but I dont think a half bridge will quite fit to cover the existing holes etc left by the original Bullet Mustang bridge, so on Tuesday I will investigate further and either fit a half bridge or do the Bubba mod....
I put a Duncan Designed Distortion in the bridge wired in parallel mode (like my Jagmaster).
I removed the neck pickup and covered the hole with a photo of a humbucker.
That's too funny. I was wondering why you had it set so low. I think it'll sound better with a photo of a Lindy Fralin Pure PAF in it though.
Today i tried another mod:
- Black pickguard and 2 Alnico II singlecoils.
Look great! Ireally like this relic finish
That is WAY cool!!
I found out at the Offset Guitar forum, from someone who bought one, that Warmoth's Mustang pickguard is a pretty great match for the Bullet Mustang. You can choose single coil or humbucker plus you can have the upper switches or not.
I paid 4,54 Euros incl. shipping from china:
Good to know. I might just order one. I have a used black Bullet Mustang incoming and I think I want to do covered pickups. Based on what I'm seeing they aren't going to fit in the stock guard.
@Spino how was the quality and fit of the Chinese plate, did it take for ever to arrive?
