My favourite guitar is a black "MIJ" circa 1984 Squier Bullet Contemporary HST with only a bridge humbucker. Plywood Tele style "sharp point" body noticeably light, Amazing Strat style maple neck, wood blocked wammy bridge,( hardtail config ), flatwound strings 048,038, 028,017,013,010. Best of all a DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker paired with a fanatastic Canadian Guitar Nut- Black Tusq XL 42mm Flat Bottom PT-5042-00. Pickup almost in contact with strings when fretted at 21 minimal 1/16' probably. The guitar becomes "alive" at that point. You get that funky Jimmy Page "psychedelic pick flick sound."
The neck logo has a unique silver star with a reversed "1" under the word "Bullet." The silver star paint appeared metallic flake style. Neck plate serial E + 6 digits.

This thread is meaningless without pictures.

    Welcome to the forum.

Did I mention that this thread is meaningless without pictures?

He's referring to the same guitar as in my avatar, but with mods as described in the post.

I also want to see the pics. Nobody would describe either of my 2 as lightweight, so I want to know how that happened!

An E6 neck plate would normally mean a 1986 date.

Thank you very much for your interest. I believe it is a "MIJ" by Fujigen Mfg in Japan. It is "lightweight" compared to my American Standard 1991 Telecaster. The "E" designation I think means 1984? Any help out there is kindly and humbly received. Thanks again!

I will post more pics soon, Michael. I play the Bullet almost everyday. My Tele gets jealous so I have to saddle up the tele to keep the tele from fighting with the Bullet...

Sorry that some find this thread "meaningless" and I apologize. Will definitely get more pictures for everyone in the near future. Keep on rockin'!

I only read Squire Talk threads for the articles but a big centerfold of it would be nice.
