This guy tries a set of 7s on his EB MM Cutlass Strat, and then compares their tone to 10s and 13s. They sound just fine to me, but I'm not sure they'd stay in tune without locking tuners like he has.

I have no problem keeping 8s in tune with Safeti Post type tuners on my guitars.

I tried the 7s from rev Willie . I could hardly feel the E under my fingers.

I use EBxs 8s on all my electrics and that freaks out tonesnobs ,but 9s flare up my aurthur ;)

I've been using them for a few years, have them on one of my Teles and one of my Les Pauls. I really like them.

Id try these 7s, especially to do those Daviid Gilmore bends.

Didnt BB King play with exceptionally light strings, 7's or 8's. Ive never heard anyone complain about his playing of his guitars going out of tune...

I used Billy 7s on a Squier Standard Strat with Duncan humbuckers for quite a while.

At low volumes the tone was... acceptable.
At the higher volumes I normally play at, there was no sound or tone difference from 8s or 9s.

They did node faster than heavier guages, though, and so needed more frequent replacement.

    My $.02.
