You know, I wouldn't object to daily pictures of it curing. That is a pretty guitar!
Back at it after about 4-1/2 weeks. Wet sanded 800 to 2000 today, and the shine is coming up:
So Kooooooooool !
A look like no other and a cool color as well .
Puts me in mind of a Mopar green Cuda
Wow, just wow!!!
Just finished wet sanding the neck and sanding the lacquer off the frets. I'm going to polish the front of the headstock & the fretboard, but leave the back sanded to 1500. Polishing starts this weekend.
That is fantastic!
Neck is done:
Love how this guitar has so many design elements cohesively tied together. Well done!
Fantastic job, beerbelly!
2 steps forward....
After polishing the body, I found a few minor flaws that I just couldn't "un-see", like some pinholes and wavy spots. So I'm wet-sanding again with 1500 and shooting another color coat, then more clear coats. See you again in 4 weeks.
Love the color its so 80's fab!!!
... and that's why I don't do stuff like this. I simply don't have the patience to do it the right way. Kudos to you for doing it right.
Do you know where the buyer is?
Could you buy it back?
I don't know where the buyer is; once you take down an ad on CL, there's no way to contact each other. But selling it gave me the funds and the opportunity to refine the design and build another one.
I want one.it looks like George Jetson would play one.
Got several more clear coats on today in my crazy patio spray booth:
