Some of you may remember my build thread of the "AstroCaster" a while back: https://www.squier-talk.com/threads/astrocaster-build.157077/ Well, I sold it to a guy that wouldn't take no for an answer, so I've decided to build another, with a few changes. My plan is to simplify the design with fewer components and a cleaner, sleeker design. I want the the two main shapes to stand out, with no extra bits and colors to distract the eye. Only 2 P90's this time; the middle 3rd one just kinda got in the way. No silver & black whammy, just an all black string-thru hardtail bridge; 3 black knobs (one is a rotary pickup selector), and the jack is moving to the lower edge. I've been playing with the design on the computer, and here's the look I'm after: AstroCaster 1: AstroCaster 2: I'm also doing a belly cut this time, and possibly a new headstock shape. The neck will again be tinted maple, but the body will be Spanish cedar instead of Alder, in the same body color.
