    Another welcome!

They're all machined by computer now so neck pockets and neck heels should all be the same dimension… at least if your talking Fender and Fender 'backed' or 'licensed' products. That said wood is susceptible to chipping and swelling and shrinkage through water damage etc and previous owners can of course also add their own mods.

All things being even though any neck should fit any body so long as it is 'official'. Screw holes likewise should match up but if not you can fill and redrill….

Interesting, I have never heard that.
How much shallower? and do they need a get around for any alignment issues with a normal bridge height?

Interesting…. I just measured the pockets on my 2015 Chinese Affinity (with the shallower body like the bullets) and my 2015 Indonesian VM70 … They're the same as far as I can tell. Maybe this is just the discrepancies they're going to get what with lower QC etc in the cheaper models but I'd have thought certain body dimensions would be the same since they're cut by machine and it would make sense economically for interchangeability of parts should factories shut or change etc and they want to use up stock in any way.

I have a 1998 Affinity strat body (full thickness) that I tried fitting a 2004 Affinity neck and it fits the pocket fine but the holes don't line up. I plan on simply re-filling the holes and re-drilling new ones that line up with the body holes. It may also need a shim or two the neck angle right but I have had to do this with both my current guitars.
