    Saw this earlier.

Heck, she wants the money, and he wants the honey.

    Sounds good to me.

Some say Hendrix was why they took up playing guitar.

Some say Clapton was why they took up playing guitar.

Some say Eddie Van Halen was why they took up playing guitar.

Some say Stevie Ray Vaughan was why they took up playing guitar.

... I say Don McLean was why I took up playing guitar.

Don's new girlfriend reminds me of Robbie Burns:

Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be Thanket!

Ugh. 24. I can't imagine that the words coming out of her mouth wouldn't make me want to shoot myself within hours. Most I did was 14 year difference and sorry, the stupid wasn't worth the sex.

    EDIT: Oh, terrible song, too.

I’m glad I’m not the only one to find it rather ‘yucky’.

Geez I feel bad that my wife is 16 years younger than me. Not really. :p

I find it yucky - for me. My wife has a coworker that's twenty years younger than us and conversations with her past five minutes are painful. As it relates to Don, one of the things I've nearly perfected with age is the fine art of minding my own business and not caring about things that don't really affect me.

He and his young girl have a social contract but anyone in any kind of relationship does. There may be "terms" in theirs that are a tad unconventional and don't suit me but it doesn't have to work for me.

Sure, it's not really any of my business but it's a discussion forum and somebody brought up the topic so I chipped in with my thoughts. I honestly have no idea why I find it slightly vomit-inducing: I could present a rational argument as to why there's nothing wrong with this relationship if you asked me to...

I think it might have something to do with the surfeit of grey-haired old white men walking around in Thailand with girls young enough to be their daughters or granddaughters (and no it most certainly has nothing to do with jealousy). But I am sure the majority of those relationships are more dysfunctional than this one, unless he met her in a brothel!

(I think I will stop posting on here for a while. I am going through some family stuff that will take a little while to resolve itself and I'm not sure whether I would normally post something like this - I've lost the ability to judge what I'm writing.)

My daughter is a pretty little thing .30's cute and bubbly .She mixes in posh circles sometimes. She was pursued by a very rich Peer of the Realm vigorously .She fancied the castle but not the keeper .......oh well .......

It's a pretty classic stereotype (he gets "arm candy" and she presumably gets money / status / fame / career opportunity or some other "non-traditional" relationship currency that balances out somehow).

Where it gets weird is when the old guy looks in the mirror and legitimately thinks he sees a young, virile, handsome guy looking back at him that beautiful 20 year olds are actually attracted to. There are lots of those guys out there, hitting on these young girls and not realizing that they're either disgusted or laughing their heads off...
