Since there has been a small interest in this picture I thought I would write some background. This is a custom built (by me) Mississippi Speedster Hovercraft based off the Universal Hovercrafts UH12-T4 designed by Bob Windt. Construction is 1/8 plywood over spruce and pine framing. At around 13 feet she sports an 18hp twin cylinder briggs & Stratton boxer engine swinging a 42" direct drive pusher prop. Lift is produced with a dedicated 8.5hp briggs vertical shaft engine and four blade fan. Typical bag skirt. This is far more HP than the plans called for and will send this beast to speeds over 55 mph on the water. So much fun it I am amazed it's legal!
