My Epi Junior and Special definitely fell into that catagory, one supplanting the other until they were supplanted by the CM. But it's by far my cheapest Gibson. Does that count?I

I traded a Marshall MG15 SS amp for a Squier partscaster at the pawn shop a few years back. I had to do some work on removing layers of poly off the neck etc.The neck was stamped 1984 and the neck pocket on the body was 1988 (or vice versa, I can't recall). It had a steel big block trem and 3 unknown alnico pups. It had a full sized body and also at the nut. It played and sounded better than any other Squier I've owned since! I eventually sold it cheap as I've been known to do many times in the past, after painting it etc. I still kick myself for letting it go! Here it is before and after. That's my decal on the headstock, not original etc. DSCF0254_crop.jpg 003_crop.jpg

I've heard many people who tell me the squire classic vibes are are as good as the American fenders, don't know , don't own any, nor do I care to find out $1000-10000. I'll keep all my classic vibes.

Mine would have to be the Epi LP Jr doublecut. I traded an Affinity Strat that I had $40 into for it at Music go Round.

I like that Jr! I’ve had a few LP Jr’s, but I’ve never seen a DC Jr like that... that’s nice!

Thanks! From what little I can find out about it, it's a 1999 MIK model with a bolt on neck and ply body.

THey play and sound as well, if not better. However, the necks on a USA Standard blow away the CV necks....IMO.
Would it stop me from buying anotehr CV? No. For the price you might be able to buy a USA neck and put it on the CV if it fits.

They’re all my favorite but this gets played most and it’s the cheapest one

The neck is what keeps me from ever owning a CV. It's just not to my liking. Quality is all there but it's just not comfortable for me. It seems to be too thin, or even a little like the neck on the Affinity, even though I know it's got a full sized nut. I have better luck with the VM, or Standard, even a SE or Bullet. It's just a personal preference thing or I would have picked one up a long time ago! I've had some opportunities.

Yeah... that’s not really them on the audio. I saw Hole a couple times, the first time they were actually really good! The second time, the rest of the band sounded good, and Ms Love was clearly on a different planet than the band... She kept trying to sing what sounded like a different song than the band, stopping after a line or two, and yelling at the crowd and the band. Finally, the guitar player came up, kicked her in the behind, and she fell right off the stage! The venue people turned all the lights on, the bouncers started pushing us towards the exits, and that was the end of the show.

Ok ... just out of curiosity, but if I somehow snagged a Fender Highway One. Would it be a significant improvement in tone, feel, and sound? I'm not going to be gigging any time soon ... but would I enjoy playing it more than my Squiers?
