Looking for opinions and thoughts. - I am buying this Boogie Bodies tele body. It is a late 80's original Lynn Ellsworth Boogie Bodies Tele. Never has been built. I only have these three pictures to go by. I should have the body by tuesday or weds next week. I have built a few guitars with Lynn Elsworth when he was my neighbor.

The body has a rubbed oil finish not exactly sure of the top cap wood, but I think below the cap its oak.

I am thinking about a Warmoth Roasted Maple neck.

I am thinking about just using a simple Fender standard hard body string thru body bridge. You have any suggestion? And I can't wait to see the backside either. So I know it has a hand rubbed oil finish, I am wondering if I should send it in for a more professional finish!

That's an absolutely beautiful body man. The roasted maple would look great on that. I'm kinda digging the solid rosewood idea too.

I'd go simple only because I don't have the presses or routers for anything fancy like a floating trem..
So looking at what's available probably a shaller all in one unit like this,,
    shopping.jpg

Just find the location and screw it down.. Probably the gold one..

Ok. my new boogie body telecaster body came in today... I know some people wanted to know a few things like what does the back look like, how much it weighed and such so here we go.

A couple of surprises also. As in,
    1. It is chambered and not solid... was not expecting that.
    2. 1691 grams - 3.728017 lbs (super light)
    3. It's obviously flamed maple on the sides, however it has about a 12mm cap top and bottom!.
    4. Since it's chambered - It will not be a thru body - Will be a hard tail for sure!.

I am really jazzed and have a few ideas. Such as a custom waterslide - I am pretty sure I I'm going with a WARMOTH neck I will have a custom water slide like WARMOTH but Capital MAWarmoth (lower case) "MAWarmoth telecaster". with a smaller "Original Boogie Body" up on the ball of the headstock.

Using a hard tail roller style bridge.

Help me identify the top/bottom cap. I have better pictures than were posted.

And any suggestions, feel free to send them my way. I have not decided on pickups yet either.
    Thanks
    .

Beautiful body! With what you say, light weight with good looking sides.

I would definitely go with Rosewood, PaoFerro(Sp?) or ebony. I would not disgrace that beautiful colored wood with maple. Roasted/burnt maple is still maple with all it's total lack of beneficial attributes for a fretboard.
