What are you getting yourself for Christmas?

Discussion in 'V.C.'s Parlor' started by Eddie, Dec 7, 2019.

  1. Still two plus weeks to figure this out. I have a couple of rarely used Squier's for sale, and an eye on a NOS, CVC Telecaster in a local store. Time will tell. Maybe something completely different happens. I never really know and I don't pin my hopes on things that might not happen. Merry Christmas to all the ST members.;)
    Cheers, Barrie.

I picked up this beautiful vm surf from lespaul1968 a week ago. My present from my wife. I've always wanted one. At first she was going to make me wait until Christmas, but I've been a good boy, so she said I can get it out tomorrow. She enables my gas as bad as you guys. Screenshot_20191201-112438.png

For Christmas my wife and daughter pitched in on my new Tele. Would have taken me awhile to save the $. She showed up UPS yesterday.
My cousin built it and sold it to me.

Lately I started using my 1982 maple neck '57 sunburst JV more and more. Even i normaly prefer rosewood, this guitar is outstanding. The body is in mint condition and i want to keep it in mint condition.

I have a blonde body from a 2003 highway one strat i slaughted a while ago (this was my first guitar, my parents buyed this second hand for me in 2009).

So why not doing a Mary Kaye JV?
For christmas I ordering myself gold hardware to make this happen.

I've already picked up a project LP style for my birthday. For Christmas I like to scour the liquor stores for the most attractive gift set. Last year it was a 12 pack of Peroni with two tall glasses. I've had the Sambuca snifter for decades.

I have the HiPoint pistol. It is a lot better quality than I imagined for $169. They are made in the US and in keeping with the power of the 45, I could not resist the price/quality combination.

When it rains....it pours. Over the last 24 hours I've sold a good bit of stuff. I sold my Squier Bullet Tele, some hunting clothes, and an old golf club. I'm about to sell my White Epi Studio and a single cut Ibanez GART50. When the dust settles my GAS account will be sitting around $500.00. Gonna start looking for a Christmas present for Mrs. JWB. After that.....another Tele and the parts to finish a FrankenStrat :)

This reminds me of the Squier/ Fender quality thing. The Hipoint is a cheap ugly pistol that shoots better than most but at a fraction of the price! I buddy of mine has one and I was VERY impressed by it. It also reminds me that its not the cost of the guitar or the pistol, its the one who has his hands wrapped around it! They have a lifetime guarantee also.

We haven't nailed down our Christmas spend yet so I'm not sure. If we go pricier, maybe a moderately priced Weissenborn or 12 string acoustic. If we keep it more reasonable, a TC Electronic June-60 Chorus and a MXR 10 Band EQ pedal.
