For Mrs D#'s birthday, we're at Wolf Trap in Virginia.
I saw Ray Charles there. Also Ozzy. That was about 35 or so years ago though. Have fun!
That's awesome Davis and Happy Birthday to the wife....
Nice ! Happy BD o the Mrs. !
I didn't know they reunited until I got the marketing email.
Very nice! They're gonna rock this town! Have fun.
That should be a great show! And Wolf Trap is an awesome venue. Show us some pics!
We were up in the loge. Glad I didn't get the lawn tickets because or lightning and rain.
I love the simplicity of their stage setup!
40th anniversary tour!!! WTF seems like yesterday I "discovered" them.
40 years and they can still fix their gear in the back of a van. Oh to be their roadie. 20 min to unload, Plug in the power, one cable to the Cab, one to the guitar. Beer time.
The way it should be.
AT THE SAME TIME?!?
Wait, they both had long periods where they had no idea where they were... So it's possible...
Lee Rocker had at least one other bass (I think two, really), and Brian Setzer used 3 Gretsches. In between songs, the roadies would swap a couple of Slim Jim Phantom's pieces - usually a high hat or floor tom.
It was a high energy performance. Rocker and Phantom are still standing up on their instruments - to the delight of the crowd. Even Setzer got up on the bass for a few seconds.
Mrs D# didn't know where we were going, until we took the exit for the arena, and didn't know the act until she saw a sign near the center. She didn't notice the people walking from the parking lot with Stray Cats shirts.
The only annoying part is that this was the 3rd fixture on the US part of the tour and, before the band took the stage, they ran out of 2019 tour T-Shirts in M, L and XL. It doesn't take a data analytics genius to know what sizes are most popular, how many tickets are sold, and what the projected demand is. I ended up with a Stray Cats logo t-Shirt with no tour dates on the back.
Happy Birthday to Mrs. Sharp... Hope you enjoyed... Love me some Stray Cats... Heck, love me some rockabilly!
I don't know about Brian Setzer but I have seen some guys with so much gear I wonder if they are even using half of it.
Some of the guys spending more time playing with their peddles than playing their guitar.
KISS Occams Razor Etc...
If you even want to be confused as to what the hell is going on with a rig, watch Vernon Reid (Living color) Rig rundown. outrageous amount of floor gear...
