Notice the electrical tape on my bridge?

The answer will be revealed tomorrow but see if you can guess the right answer?

    Is it…

    > Tape left over from when I worked on my Squier?
    > If is covering up a scratch?
    > Is it a statement on the world?
    > Is it just a piece of tape I put on it to make this post

or is it something else? So is this a tip or trick?

OK, now that we're done with that...

What does the button near the volume knob do?

I originally thought the tape was to keep in the little spring -- but I can see a break in that tape ... I'm guessing the spring is lost, and the tape has been put there to give some drag on that trem arm so it stays in place?

I had thought of this trick years ago to remind myself that the trem is blocked so don't put a bar in there. ;)

Allows you to screw in the whammy bar and take it out without losing the spring or having to re-tape it each time you do?

Like @Papa Joe was getting at, it's there to keep tone from leaking out the unused hole.

A treble bleed drain so it doesn't fill up the cavity?

It's a tip not a trick, I place a little patch of tape over my Tremolo holes to stop my Stratocaster Tremolo Arm Tension Springs from falling out.Works great. I can take my strat out of my gig bag and it doesn't fall out, I can move it around and it doesn't fall out,
