On one of our thrift store jaunts early in our relationship my wife picked this, which I just passed over. I'll let you judge for yourselves.
Oh, and once I got on board this became a fave. I dunno, but the accompaniment sounds pretty bad @$$ to me!
Such a shame what Parkinson's has taken from her.
Read some stuff about Tanya back in the day. She was quite the little hellion despite what Nashville tried to make her look like
A friend of mine toured with her..I guess she had settled done some by that time..
Martina McBride by a very big margin for me. Watch the Crossroads episode with her and Pat Benatar where they trade songs. Unbelievable on both parts.
A couple of my favorite country gals.
Wasn't LeAnn Rimes about 15 in that video?
My brother spent a few days partying with Tanya in the late 70's - early 80's time frame.
As far as the Hellion description goes, a lot of the music you know and love from that time period was written in a 24 x 7 party. Nashville was one of the places you had to be careful doing that.
My cousin had his own weekly television show, and believed he was a star. He was invited to play at the Grand Ole Opry. He blew into town and partied instead of rehearsing and getting ready for the show, or so the older family members say. They replaced him, and now he is a songwriter, since it pretty much ended his career as a performer.
Most of the "hellions" did not last long there.
I know I haven't kept up with her it sure seemed like she kinda burned out at a relatively young age.
I've read some stuff about her and when she was younger she could party with the best of them and rebelled against what Nashville tried making her. I'm sure she mellowed with age like we all do....lol
Seems so..She came on like gang busters..Being touted as the next Patsy Cline..
She's still performing and recording and doing very well at it..More in the pop field though..
I haven't kept up with country since probably the 90's so I'm really out of touch. Didn't she get into some trouble with stalking an ex or something?
No offense because people like what they like but this is a prime example of the nasally twangy whine type singing I just can't stand....lol.
On a side note if a man was shown burning down a house he'd be labeled misogynistic, women do it then it's just considered funny.
