Forum member Nelson Montana ("Plangentmusic") has worked his magic again, redoing the Abstracts' classic 1964 recording of "Always Always" for today.

Apart from the intro (borrowed from the Abs' recording) every single note you hear -- voice and music -- is Nelson.

(And I, for one, am once again just amazed!) :)

Oh, and TURN IT UP folks. This thing rocks!

Wonder if any other forum members could come up with a version in a different style?
PS check this out (written for the Monkees by Andy Partridge of XTC):

It is always fascinating to see how various artists (okay, and the rest of us too) ;) find different "takes" on a song.

First we need to give ourselves permission. To realize that nothing is sacred.

A somewhat "classic," but non hit can be a great place to start. No taboos! :)

That was a long, long time ago. But the unexpected rediscovery of the group -- actually me being ID'd by pop music historian Mike Dugo back in 2011 -- led to a Resurrection of the band's music. Kind'a fun for an old rocker to see happening.

Here's Ugly Things magazine writing about it in the Spring 2012 issue...
