I don’t have any guitars made in the 70’s. Early 80’s is as far back as I go. :(

The on the top (pics rotate for me funny on here)... 1970’s Harmony partscaster. The neck and body were bought separately. The fit in the neck pocket between the neck and body could fit a few picks lol! The pickguard is a prewired GM and the bridge is a Wilkinson (that’s being swapped soon). I knew this wasn’t the original finish and it had its own bumps and bruises but I really wanted to make it look like it had been found lurking in the corner of a Goodwill for a decade then salvaged. I figure between this and my 74 Les Paul Special (awaiting massive surgery) I’m pretty satisfied.

My 77 Fender, my precious!. I also have a Matao classical, a Hondo folk martin copy and a Chet Atkins Fame acoustic electric steel string that is a 69 or 70.

The Chet I believe this to be a first run of his learn play series package, seams I have some books and maybe a 45rpm that came with it too. :) very nice quality git.

Matao had this since I was a teenager.

The Hondo this is a very nice guitar plays easy and sings

    Loves me 70's Japanese acoustics!

  10. I think you're missing the point. Nice Strats, but 70's builds is the theme here (correct me if I'm wrong)

I don't own any 1970's built guitars, just pics of a couple I used to own back in the 70's.
    Cheers, Barrie.

i think its time we step up and buy the real thing.. :D
But honestly its tough when you can buy 3 top quality reissues for the price of one 70s made..

it was a '70s Ibanez LP copy just like the one I used to have back in '76 that reignited my two humbucker 4 control 3 way switch phase. I had left that all behind in the '80s and for the '90s and early '00s it was all bolt neck strats and single coils with the odd humbucker here or there (Lonestar strat).

I wandered into Daddy's Junky Music as I was so wont to do in those days (RIP, DJM) and there I saw it hanging on the wall. If it were borked or unplayable, i would have left it there but it was fine. Non-original case, though. The Ibanez cases of the day had these cool double metal bindings. I started getting into blending the pickups using the tone and volume controls, and that lead to the purchase of a 1960 Classic and that lead to a 1999 R9 purchase ... and so on.

Great beginner guitar, had mine for at least 13 years, so far my longest tenure with any one instrument. Only my '11 R0 is getting close.

Man, I have that Greco guitar. Got it at a yard sale with a lump of other stuff. It's kind of a mess, though.

I have a 70s Ibanez Lawsuit with the case you mention. It does have an added split or phase or something switch. I never bother to figure out exactly what it does, lol. But sounds great!

Fret wires have some dings and the neck pocket is a bit sloppy. I'm intrigued by the switches, though.
