What type of replacement saddle can I buy for this guitar?
Is it a hard tail with 6 saddles?
I replaced mine with a spare set of the solid saddles from a affinity telecaster that were giving to me. (2 1/16th spacing I think they are, can't measure at them moment. Someone correct me if they know for sure the spacing size.)
I didn't like the bent steel saddles that came on the VM Tele Deluxe, they were too wide and really didn't fit the bridge properly and pushed the high "e" string off the neck.
The new narrower saddles fixed that.
I seem to remember a few cases of people posting about the squier thinlines having the same issue as they had the same saddles.
I got a chance to measure and they are indeed 2-1/16ths size.
For budget, GFS has some, http://www.guitarfetish.com/Upgrade-Stainless-Steel-Saddles-Fits-Trems-Set-of-Six_p_773.html
Graphtech also makes string savers that are nice but a little pricier. http://www.graphtech.com/products/b...er-originals-strat-tele-2-1-16-string-spacing
There are probably several makers to choose from. Hope this helps
Also since this is your first post...Welcome to the forum!
@Yabs - I recently upgraded the saddles on my DVM Tele and I'm very happy that I did!
The stock ones were fine, but the string spacing was a little 'all over the place' since the saddles didn't have a dedicated string groove.
I bought some 10,50mm Highwood Guitar Parts Saddles, and they fit nicely, and the string spacing is even, and where it should be now!
The sustain and sound has improved also, atleast from what I could tell.
