Early this morning I got a notice that figurative Serial #00001 Surfboard 4 had passed custom in Cincinnati. Then, moments ago, that it was already out for delivery by direct courier service from Boston.

The folks at Wangs Amplification USA continue to amaze me. When they get a bug they act. And they certainly got a 'bug' for this concept of the Surfboard. What is it? Two weeks and a day since I came up with the idea and made the proposal?

Anyhow, it'll be here later today and you just KNOW I'm gonna put it through its paces. And post my thoughts here, first.

For those into "surf" but unfamiliar with the subject of this thread, here's a link to the initial public product announcement:

Don that's just so cool how this has worked out for you. It sounds like Wangs is a great company to do business with.

Okay, before I plug her in I have to be a good doobee. Its an old friend's birthday today and I always call her on the date.

(Yeah, it'll be a long call. We've been friends since my days in the Abs and our yearly telephone conversation is filled with catchup)

This much I'll say. The unit is SOLID. Extruded aluminum construction. Beautifully smooth-feeling switch gear.

    More later! :)

That looks like some great parameters! Tap tempo on the delay and 3 reverb options. Decent to say the least !

Naive me. I know not any colorful meaning for doobee. Just being a 'good guy' who does what he ought'a.

(and that, dear friends, is challenge enough.) :D

Anyhow, I'm back. Or will be as soon has my mental equilibrium returns. Then it'll be on to the 'board! :)

Nice! Here I was thinking I was doing an awesome job streamlining myself down to five pedals on a PedalTrain Nano+ but this rig of yours is really cool..... a custom pedal board, just one unit..... your four go-to pedals all in one..... you are a man with a plan for sure.

In my neighborhood, Big Fatty is a barbecue joint, not a spliff, pardon the pun. I've been a good Doobie though, not a Don't Be. I still think Don is right to call his old friend before he plugs in, though..... but jeeze, these metaphors are great and Cheech Marin sure was funny in this scene. Did you guys know that before Tommy Chong and Cheech Marin became Cheech and Chong and took off with their comedy act and movie career that they had there own R&B showband for a few years?

People ask me "why do you spend so much time on that guitar forum?" I tell 'em "for two reasons. One for the friends I have there. And two, for all that I learn."

Hey, proof is in the pudding ain't it?

    (Gee them ciggies smell funny.)

Wait, is that Facebook link correct, that pedal only runs $150? They’ll be flying off the shelf.
