2016 vs 2017. That is the 2nd small modification we've discovered in the design between those 2 years. Interesting!

It could be a model year difference,
or perhaps a different model design choice,
given the White Holiday is a reissue, and the Black Holiday is not?
Maybe the same reason the truss rod covers are different as well?
Who doesn't love a good mystery?

Update: According to the fellow at Supro
v-1 (I assume version #1) which is our Black Holidays that have the hubcap covering the screw. Whereas v-2 The White Holiday what you see on the back of the guitar are the screws no covers, some sort of hex wrench type of deal. The point is, do not attempt to remove version # 2 by prying them off as this will cause damage to guitar and sadness to the owner.

Thank you! That is important to know.

I shall put it right in there with the warning that came with a certain (not to be named motorcycle) in the 1990s. It read "No part of this motorcycle is edible."

I believed them and I believe you!

How did you contact them? Are they easily accessible and responsive?

There is so little provided. No literature. No manual. (not even online) What gauge strings do they use, for instance? (I guess 10s, but would like to officially know)

I have been in contact with a guy named Tim.
He has been very helpful with my questions.
Give him a try, and share what you find out!

Tone impressions Day one (sorry for the delay ).
First off, bridge does NOT sound just like the bridge from the White Holiday, it sounds a bit rougher/twangier (probabaly from the more conventional controls). It nails some tones perfect with very little tweaking (Baby Blue from Badfinger for example), but as the pan on the tone is adjusted, I’m hearing unique.

Neck pup: I really need to spend more time with this pup, but again... unique, and not conventional sounding for a neck ‘bucker until you really dial it down (vol AND tone).

I’ll go with @blackspider57’s assesment that this sounds more resonant... or what I thought... sounds more like a semi-hollow than the White.
    Me likey!

I remain amazed how true that is.

Assuming, as I believe is the case, that the PUPs are the same, the only difference is the wiring and the more resonant 'face' on the two-part semi-hollow body. But they remain two distinct guitars.

Both equally wonderful I might add.

It is amazing to me at this point in my life to find an instrument (2 in fact) that is totally unique. The last time I experienced this was in 1966 when a friends gave me my first Tele. -An old, beat (but wonderful), late fifties model.

    :)

I’m wondering if they price guarantee, perhaps we should contact them and see if we can match our price... being less than 30 days?

I won't. The deal was far more than fair. Two day shipping thrown in. Alto is a good company. I personally won't 'nickel and dime' them.

Just me of course. (call me silly if you wish)

They were already so good about the case credit… This is kind of how I was already thinking. Plus I’ve got another 35 altobucks from buying the black holiday.

    Worth the drive.
You will feel better about your purchase if you can hold it in your hands!
Buying online can be a bit of a "Pig in a poke" as Grandma used to say. :)
