    Howdy Yall!

I spotted a Red Squier Telecaster, looks to be a 1997-1998. Does anyone know what something like a MIM Squier go for, or what's a good offering price? It has some pretty rough wear on it.

I'll post some pictures later if anyone is interested.

yes pics! It depends, but around $200 is reasonable. Probably less if you're saying it's pretty beat. Cant hurt to start tossing out numbers to see what they're holding it's value at.

There's a burn that boiled the finish on the back, the neck has a lot of dents/scratches that make it feel rather bumpy. I like the vintage tuners though.

Some finger grease on the frets, some dust around pickups and some pretty aggressive dings around the edges. I like the bridge, on the other hand.

Looks like it’s at a shop, what do they have it tagged at? How does it play, did you get a chance to plug in and test the electronics? The hardware seems pretty nice and the finish in the neck looks nice, even if it is beat a bit. It’s up to you, I still wouldn’t go over $200 and even that’s a bit higher than I’d care to go for how nicked it is. If that tele’s magic when you play it however, it’s hard to put a price tag on that.

I just picked up one of these a few weeks ago. Mine is black. I really like it. It's basically a MIM Fender Tele with a Squier decal. I lucked out. I bought it locally with an amp for $80. I sold the amp for $90, so, the Tele was free with $10 to boot. I have no idea on the value, but these are VERY high quality guitars! Mine is in very good condition.

Same guitar as the Fender mim of the same time. I have one and it comes stock with alnico pickups. It has a 3 screw bridge that is different than the 4 screw ones. 20180720_132847.jpg

I saw it hanging in a pawn marked pretty low, around $100. It was out of tune and missing a string, plus I took a quick break from work to snag the numbers off the headstock, which is why the photos are potato. Mostly curious if it's worth cleaning up maybe restore for fun or part it out...

I don't need another guitar, but it would be fun to f with.

Or if there's a restorer here who wants me to snag it I'd be willing to send it out. It could use some TLC.

Snatch it up! For $100 (maybe talk them down a bit too?!) well worth it I’d think.

I was surprised to see a made in Mexico on it, I was expecting Indo or Korean. Same **** as a MIM Fender, which I guess it is.

Well worth 100 bucks! The dings are 'character'. Yours is a MN7 (97) and mine is a (98)

This one of mine sounds fabulous. Plays great too.

I'd offer the guy $60, I'm not proud, likely that won't fly but ya gotta try. Point out all the wear etc. Then bicker a bit, tell him it's a Squier not a Fender or whatever it takes and in the end, $100 ain't bad! If it were me, depending on how bad the neck is beat up, I'd do some sanding on the back and see if some of the nicks smooth out etc. Clean it up and play it! Good luck.
