Strat-Talk has become (for me) a cork-sniffing, snobbish forum, which I already knew and expected from other forums, but never expected from Strat-Talk.
Sorry it took so long for me to see the light, besides, half of my gear is Squier anyway, and nothing wrong with that, or cheaper products that aren't necessarily Fender, Gibson, Boss, etc. etc.

This is about as laid back as a forum can be. I haven't spent much time at Strat Talk, but I can imagine how it would be.

I joined a Les Paul group on Facebook. That lasted about a week and I was done. I love Les Pauls, but I just couldn't get along with that group of people.

    Anyways, glad your here!

Yes, this is by far the best forum around. It's the people here that make it a great place!

There are a lot of members that are on both forums, and while there is a wealth of technical information over there, it’s nowhere near as homey as here.

We are all the same family. Name calling is unnecessary.

Hi and a hearty welcome. Most all the folks here are helpful, supportive, informative, and generally fun to interact with. Of course like anywhere, there are a few snarky jerks, but they are very few and best ignored. Most of all enjoy yourself and have fun!

p.s. We need guitar porn...pics of all your guitars, no matter the name :D

I love Squier Talk, and TDPRI is super cool, too. And accepting of those of us who are more into Strats than Teles. Strat Talk just isn't as fun as these two, 'cause there are some jerks over there. Of course, sometimes I act jerky here and at TDPRI, but then I apologize, and nobody judges me (at least not that I know of, I may have received hundreds of ignores for all I know).

Cork sniffing and snobbish is not name calling, it's a social life choice ...

IMHO, this is the BEST group of folks on any guitar forum I have checked out ...

but there are PLENTY of good folks over at Strat-Talk! Yeah, as with any forum w/ that large a population, there are going to be the few, overly loud, (insert expletive of choice here) -- but there are tons of good ppl there w good intentions (many of whom are also HERE) :)

I too joined 2 different Les Paul forums and a FB one in the past. I got ignored mostly, and blindsided with undue criticism because I praised another guitar that was my first ever, a Yamaha SBG2000, which was known as the Les Paul Killer. I didn’t claim that it was better than a Les Paul, nor did I use the nickname of LPK in my post. I merely said it’s Japanese craftsmanship was superb.
    That was it for me.
Came here after picking up a Jagmaster 2 years ago. (In fact, yesterday was my 2 year anniversary).
I posted my Les Paul here and I’ve recieved compliments and no criticism at all.
My favorite forum hands down (and that includes non-guitar forums).
I love this place and have developed a unique online bond with many of the members here. All class, no jackass.
