New guy post. My first good guitar was an '86 Squier Contemporary Strat MIJ with a 24 3/4" scale and a couple of humbuckers - Fender meets Gibson. I sold it a couple of years later to finance my first build. It took a bunch of years to find another black one; the red ones seem to be much more common. Anyway...

L-R: '86 Contemporary Strat HH, Classic Vibe '60s Strat, Classic Vibe '50s Tele, Stagemaster v2, and a couple of homebrews

Keeping it! I'll probably put a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position and a Burstbucker 2 in the neck position. The stock pickups are underwhelming, and the JB I have in the bridge position now isn't what I want to hear from this one.

    Sweet!
Idk why but I never liked the JB after having it in an old Yamaha of mine... I really have loved the pearly gates and even pearly gates +... for a more affordable pick up I’d recommend the 25 cal from guitar madness, I have it in my Alvarez offset to replace a Phat Cat and it sounds awesome. It’s basically 2 quarter pounders lol

I like the JB in the right guitar, but I typically go for a more open-sounding pickup. The single-hum homebrew with the Floyd is an Antiquity that's almost 20 years old, still with its degaussed AlNiCo II magnet. Totally the wrong pickup for that type of guitar, but the tone and response doesn't lie!

Welcome home.. we saved you a spot..
    Gotta love the 80s contemporaries..
It was my first electric guitar also..
    Loved Squier ever since..
Seems you have more amps than guitars..
    We can fix that.. :)

Welcome to the boards, those are some nice guitars!

I need to try one of those Stage masters. What are your thoughts about the neck on yours?

Hah! Actually, 11 guitars and 11 amps. I do some building of both. I may or may not have a problem.

Really nice feel to the neck. The frets are jumbos (haven't measured width or height, but they're big uns) and the neck profile is similar to a '60s slab-board Fender.

Nice collection, a little bit of everything. Don't be afraid to post pics of other guitars, were not just Squires, just mainly Squiers. We love all guitar related stuff. You can throw in some pics of amps and other guitars.
