It look likes you live in a truly a beautiful location yet I'm glad I wasn't there to witness this.
Snowed in flagstaff yesterday,, I sqweeked through before it started.. But looking at the forecast maps its still winter in Colorado and parts of the rockies.. Brr.
Is that typical for early May?
No not flagstaff,, I can't speak for Colorado but something tells me its not unusual for the higher elevations.. (But checking the net,, flag has a 50% chance for snow in early May.. Guess you had to live there to know that).. It is over 7000ft in elevation..
Yes, it really, really, REALLY is Spring!
A true bloomin' afternoon!
Some green at last!
True. In Western NY we're starting to hear spring peepers, indicating that the last 'hard freeze' is past. Today, on the property: Baltimore Oriole, Black and White Warbler, Great Blue Heron, Woodchuck, tons of Cottontail Rabbits chasing each other around, and many White Tailed Deer (Some mating. Yow! Never seen that here on the property, before).
My kids made Tipis
Proof we have actual sprouting things in the yard
The container gardens should be ready to go soon
Man spring couldn’t come any sooner this year...
Double-damn! Twice, this hour, I've missed getting a picture of a mink about 8 feet outside the window on the patio. That mink will make short work of one of these rabbits or squirrels.
Mergansers are big, and cool. We had a lonely male Wood Duck for a week. We've got a Wood Duck box on a pole by the creek, but he couldn't find a mate, here.
We had a wood duck a few days later.
These guys are great and pop up everywhere: Rudy Warman and The Heavy Weather, busking on the May Bank Holiday.
'If there's a bustle in your hedgerow,
Don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by,
But in the long run,
There's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder.'
Out on our bikes, with the hawthorn blossom, cow parsley and Queen Anne's lace in full flower. May is my favourite time of year.
Bluebell wood up the hill.
A somewhat stormy evening sky...
Wow, that is a beautiful picture!
I saw this guy eating a rodent while taking my kids to school. He gave me a bad look, grabbed his leftovers and glided off.
My parents are getting older, and wanted a single level house. (They have a split level now) The basement got dug... 2? Weeks ago, and they already have it this far built up. Impressive!
I had to go fetch our camper from where it spent the winter. We really shouldn’t pull it with our van, cause even with the camper empty, it weighs a little more than the van is supposed to pull...
The Tulips are all doing nicely. Our Hops are starting to grow, too. I’m still not convinced that I’m not gonna wake up tomorrow and see a foot of new snow, though...:0
Wow ... those are all late winter flowers here. Nice to see again.
I saw a Canada Goose with 6 goslings yesterday! A real sign that things are changing for the better
