What's the general feeling on silver bodies?
I looked at a new silver Squier yesterday at a store.
Not at all sure if I really like it or not. Immediate feeling was it's "plastic" looking, but it is pretty.
Am I just old fashioned or would you guys buy a silver model?

I scooped up one of these “slick silver” affinity tele’s a little bit ago. Honestly, I’m kinda in the same boat. I don’t think it looks plastic-y so much, but I’m really not sure how I feel about it. Mostly I just wish it was lake placid blue. It looks cool hanging up or on a stand, maybe I just need to spend more time with it. It’s mostly a closet queen at this time.

  5. Hell ya. Love the silver look. Lost out on a FSR Squier Custom Tele a couple of years ago. Someone else beat me to it. Man that was a nice looking guitar.
    Cheers, Barrie.

I’ve always wanted one of these (79 Anniversary Strat) I’ve actually handled two different ones, and both of them felt like they weighed 12 pounds... seriously WAY too heavy for a guitar! But I think the silver/black color combo is pretty much the nicest there is for a Strat.
I also thought about scaring up a “Robert Cray” signature body, cause they’re silver and hardtail (I never use the tremolo anyway) I did find one, but they wanted $300 just for the body, which I just couldn’t swing.

I like silver. I had a Barney purple Stagemaster way back in 2002 that I refinished silver. This is the only pic I have of it.

Anyway.. I have a blue sparkle Bullet HH that GC had -I think it was an FSR and there was red and silver sparkles as well. That is one of my #1s that is always out and available to play. I have actually considered buying the other 2 colors. Nothing wrong with a little flash!

    What's not to like?
I have a silver grey Bullet Special, Johnson, and a Lotus Strats. Pearl guard on the Johnson and black on the others.

The Affinity Strat in Slick Silver is quite pretty. If for some reason I get a second Strat, that'll be the one. But she would deserve a better pickguard than the boring white stock item. Anodised copper, maybe?

  15. This was the Classic Vibe FSR Telecaster Custom (double bound) that I missed out on. Dang!
