Well, the only Tele part on this build is a Squier CV50s neck, so I'm hoping I just got in the door. It's a beautiful quartersawn one I found on Reverb.com, a real stunner.

I've built several guitars over the years, but all were based on existing designs. I decided to design my own this time around, called the "Shark". I hope you see what I'm envisioning in these photos. This will have two GFS Surf 90s which I've used on other builds, and I really like them. The CV50s Tele neck & tuners, a vintage Strat trem by Kluson, Alpha pots, Orange Drop cap, 3-way toggle and bevel-top knobs. Color will be Stew Mac Sonic Blue lacquer, with should look nice with the vintage tint on the neck. Here's what's going on so far:

Made a lot of progress the last couple of days. Set scale length, carved belly & fin cuts, drilled all mounting holes, routed control cavity & drilled cable route, sanded to 220 and getting ready for some vinyl sealer followed by an undercoat of white lacquer. The neck fits nice & tight and is aligned perfectly.

Great looking concept, and a really clean looking build! Can't wait to see where it goes. And you're right, that neck is killer!

After sealing with Behlen vinyl sealer, I sprayed some white lacquer as an undercoat for the Sonic Blue; I wasn't sure how well the blue would cover the wood color variations. Should be painting the blue tomorrow.

That's my 1965 Falcon Ranchero, a factory 289 V8 4-speed car. Me and a buddy took it on a 16-day, 9-state, 5,000 mile road trip last summer, including a stop at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower and Glacier Park. Never missed a beat.
