Came home for lunch yesterday and happened to see what looked like a dead mint Squier SE on my local Craigslist for only $50. I quickly texted the seller and said I could be over in under 30 minutes. A quick drive later and I was the new owner of a mint SE in sunburst! With a decent Fender gig bag, Fender Sidekick amp, clip on Planet Waves tuner, Fender strap, cable and guitar stand. I did not have the heart to even try and negotiate at that price. I can EASILY sell off the extra stuff and more than pay for the actual Squier. What's really odd was just how think and chunky this neck was. It is a full "D" neck and not the standard "C" that seems to come with these guitars. Now normally I just mod n flip these cool little guitars but given this huge n chunky neck, this one will be a keeper! GFS full size steel block vintage style tremolo is on the way. I have plenty of CTS and CRL goodies on my bench to easily upgrade the electronics. The pickguard is not stock and is a sweet WD version. I decided to order these pups from ebay for a more modern Strat given that I have plenty of real vintage Strats. I have used these before and they are excellent value for the money and hum cancelling so plenty of options with push/pull pots too. More pics to follow !
