Couldn't resist ... one more.
Rory Gallagher is my insperation. He is my favourite guitarist of all time. Many say Hendrix, Clapton, BB King, or etc. But the one who stands out and actually inspired me to pick up the guitar again was Rory. There is literally noone like him. He was, amd always will be, the greatest of all time. RIP.
No matter what sing of his you listen to, they all sound amazing. Many artists have at least a few bad sings, but Rory doesn’t, all of Rory’s sound perfect
My fave songs of his are Shadow Play, Philby, Bad Penny, for the last time, a million miles away, and so much more
Gerry McAvoy's Band of Friends. Tribute to Rory Gallagher.
Check them out.
It is incredible how good those tributes to him sound. Get the sound brilliantly
I think there's an annual festival in Ireland. They bring in tribute bands all in honor of Rory.
I saw there was one on this summer, but the price of it put me off. Don’t remember exactly how much it was but I think around €160? But it was really expensive for the whole 3 day festival. The price put me off
That would be in addition to ferry prices and food. Gets a bit ridiculous (for me). That being said though. Other people my age to go Glastonbury and Creamfields, Reading and Leeds fest, etc. They cost more.
1979 … Saw Rory that year. That one brings back memories.
Maybe not his best one, but definitely one of my favourites! The G-man was in his very early twenties when he put this together. 'Whole lot of people', from the album 'Deuce'.
Haven't heard that one for quite sometime now. Thanks!
So it's Sunday
Doesn't take long to realize, Rory had a close connection to the American culture and landscape, especially the Southeast.
^^^ Rory's all out on the lead work there. One of my faves.
Great to see this thread live on!
