Man, that is seriously crusty! It's like the guy only played while sitting next to a hefty bag full of Doritos!

The Squier Strat Standard neck I bought off eBay for my brother's Strat I built was all crudded up like the above one in mkgearheads post.

    Freaking disgusting !!!

It took 3 cleanings to get it shined up ,but it did play real nice . 2017-11-28 16.59.56.jpg

    My loooooooong-running Hondo project-the FB was naaaaaas-ty! EFD97D0B-E682-40E5-A5B0-DE9282FB6A9B.jpeg

But it cleaned up nice with isopropyl and a scotchbrite pad-nothing else would touch the nasty funk on it. I was afraid I’d have to just sand it...

I’m not OCD about washing my hands or anything, but my guitars I play all. the. time. Do not get any build up. I know other people that can lean their hand up against the wall in Fort Knox and their arm will fall through. Simply, body chemistry.

I find it all a bit of a turn off too, it is just neglect of basic guitar maintenance imho..

As requested. It looks better in the pic. It’s got a lot of dings in it.
