    Apart from meaning to write Hofner, price seems pretty high considering that the neck heel looks like it’s been worked on. The action looks decently low though!

    There's a Hofner forum that seems to be one of the best reference sources on old Beatle Basses. I'd suggest as least perusing their 500/1 section to get an idea on authenticity and perhaps value. There are only so many of these around, and a real one is a rare gem. In the interests of protocol, I won't link the forum here, but it's called HofnerHounds

    I posted it, but was never really interested in such an expensive guitar. I was really just ragging on the seller for calling his Hofner a "Hohner".

    Having said that, I admit it would be a very nice and appropriate match to this guitar, which I do own.
