Got the bridge mounted and strung up. Sounds great unplugged and the intonation is dead on. I still need to do the roundover on the edges of the body and route for the pickup, control cavity and jack.

More progress. I made a template and bought some better double sided tape and made a pickup cavity. I also got the control cavity, jack hole and wiring channels done. I made a little “oops” while doing the roundovers. I should’ve done them before the jack. That’s why I do the back first. I couldn’t resist slapping it together and taking it for a test run. That Guitar Madness P90 sounds really good. Now I have to tear it back down and put some sort of finish on the body.

Can't go wrong with a pine caster...... I have never seen a bad looking one and this one is looking pretty righteous

She’s pretty much done. I just have to make a control cover. I forgot to do the recess for it before I painted it but it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s nowhere near perfect but it definitely has character.

This guitar is off to its new home. I donated it to guitars4vets.org. I also included a gigbag, strap, cable headphone amp and some picks.

It seems like guitars4vets.org is becoming the favorite charity around these parts.

Thanks for donating--supporting veterans is always a good thing in my book.

The guy from Guitars4vets mentioned that one of the other veterans in the group was wanting to transition to electric guitar as well. This prompted me to get off my butt and get to work finishing this project. The body is one of the first ones I made. It’s constructed like an old Danelectro. It has a chambered wood core with masonite on the front and back. I made the bridge plate, control plate and pickup ring. I don’t like how the pickup ring came out so I ordered one from Amazon today. The neck was a freebie. I ordered a different one on eBay and received this one by mistake. When I contacted the seller they apologized, sent the right one and told me to keep this one. Here’s a mockup. I want to try and get someone local to add some pinstripes to the body. We’ll see how that goes.
