This is getting out of hand. This make 4 in 2 weeks. Sold the other 2 for decent profits so no bitching from me. Today's deal is just that. Pawn shop wanted $249 for each. I pointed out that the gold top had a neck cracked one side so I got both for $250 out the door. Going to flip the black one and keep the gold top for free. The black one is a 98 Deluxe model that originally had 2 mini buckers. Someone replaced the neck one with a SD Duncan Distortion. Sounds great, shouldn't have any problem getting my money back.

They look good. How bad is the crack? Something that needs repaired?

The crack was on the bass side. It was clean and after removing the truss rod cover and nut I was able to get it open far enough to get plenty of wood glue in there. It's on the workbench now drying for a couple of days.

Isn't the gold one missing a big chunk of finish near the pots ?

Yeah, the gold one looks a little rough, but still pretty cool looking. Mojo, right? For the price it looks real good!

The gold top is indeed rough looking but plays great. For free, I'll take one every day. Genuine relic! The Deluxe with mini buckers were only made from 98-00.

I'd fix that with super glue. Get the medium density. Make a wall on the edge with masking tape, put down one layer of glue, wait for it to dry. Then with a gold opaque paint maker, something like that:

... paint one thin layer before adding another glue coat. If color needs more density, repeat the same steps. If color is good, just keep filling the cavity. Finish by sanding and polishing. Pretty straightforward method to fix that gig one.

I remember loving those Epiphone Pauls back in the 90's.

I'd scoop one up if my wife wouldn't give me the stink eye about it.

I need to Google and see how to tell the decades on these just in case I see a deal I can't pass up.

One indicator is the Korean TRC shape.
