First of all, hello to the children of the 50’s, rock’n rollers of the 60’s and 70’s. Peace. Lol

This has a story. Last summer we had a little girl of 7 years of age at our place for a few days with her folks. It was raining, and she was board out of her skull. I asked her if she had ever played a guitar? She replied no, but I want to. To make a longer story shorter, we looked at all the guitars and banged on some. I asked her if she would like to help me out on a guitar. I got a big Yes. I gave her a pine body and some water-based stain. Took her three hours. She worked the entire time. I think it’s a masterpiece. I told her what a good job she had done. The girls were heading off to the mall and she did not want to go. She wanted to play guitars. Since then she has learned to play cords and keep rhythm. I think that deserves a reward. I took her masterpiece and hit it with a few coats of poly and then buffed it out. Gave it a funky vintage vibe to match its skin. I hope she likes it. She will get it this week.

(Next, I am going to suggest she does the headstock to match)

My girls are immersed in guitars, hopefully it's something we can share together the rest of my time here. The guitar looks great! She should be proud!

Feel good story of the year,, best part is the "peace out" wasn't your good bye as feared when I clicked on the post.. I feel much better now.. Keep up the good work and keep pushing guitars on kids... Nothing bad could come of that.. If so just unplug the amp.. Let them play acoustically..

There used to be a TV show "Kids say the darndest things". It follows that they do the darndest things as well, if left alone without too much intervention instruction. Apparently guitars follow like computing, they just do it.

Great story as well as a beautiful guitar. Just think what it would have been worth to someone back in the '60's, just for the artistry of the painting. It's wonderful and kudos to Dad for copying it for his own rig. She sounds like a wonderful young lady. More power to her and to you for guiding her on her way. She can learn guitar and have a lifelong hobby at the least, who knows how far she can or wants to take it.

    Very nice indeed.

You beat me to it. I was thinking the same thing.

Great story. Amazing guitar. This is what makes our community special.

Awesome. I love paisley and psychadelic finishes, and that is amazing for a seven year old.Nice to see musical and artistic interest in kids. Cool of you to give her that opportunity.

I showed this to my 10 year old. I asked if she could do it.

So I'm gonna look for a white guitar, and let her do her thing. :)

Does your daughter want a Gibson LP or a Fujigen?;)

You can't fool us, we know the tricks to buying another guitar but pretending that it's not for you.
