Had to head up to the next town, and hit a couple of pawn shops while there. I scored a MIM with a Seymour JBjr in the bridge. Also grabbed an SE with the aged pearloid guard....this might be my P90 strat, we'll see. Time to take 'em apart and clean 'em up. Good day!

Both of my SE’s had single coil routes at the neck position. Great guitars, but some modifications might be needed to get a P90 in there.

    That MIM is sweet!
    HNGD!!!!

Sucks having to pawn a guitar,, but it sure is nice when you find a deal.. Congrats on the New to You Twofor Day!.. Every serious modder should have a small router and a dremel.. Maybe you can find one at the pawn shop.. :)

    Like the MIM.

  8. Pawn shops in my area are a waist of time with over priced guitars. A couple of nice finds there brother @snivlem ;)

I hit about 15. I could have hit the other 13 and not these 2 and it would have been a total wiff. I could post an entire laugh of the day thread just on what I saw in some stores. There was a $499 Fender Squier Affinity strat....no joke.

Nice work! Those are both great deals!

Pawn shopping is definitely dangerous if you don't know what you're looking at when you're shopping though. If you do your homework, you can come home with killer deals like those shown.

I can find $40-50 Squiers all day long, but I wish I could find an MIM for $250! :D

    Keep up the good work!

Nice. I hit 6 or 7 pawn shops regularly and have found some amazing deals. Lots of junk to weed through though. I’ve often thought of how nice it would be to just sit in the parking lot waiting on someone to show up with a guitar. Approach them and ask to go inside pretending to be a friend to oversee the deal. Tell them to decline the deal and then buy it in the parking lot for more than the offer inside. Of course at some shops we might have to make the deal down the road. There’s some rough looking dudes that might not appreciate parking lot dealing.

Opened the MIM. Had to because when I plugged it in, the wiring was all jacked up. Whoever put in the Seymour Duncan did not know how to read a diagram. I do. Fixed that and moved everything over to the pickguard from the SE.

The neck had lost most of it's finish, so I decided to Tru oil it. BTW... Anybody know what's up with these round routes? 1528861460198.jpg
