Well, after failing in my attempt to obtain an HH guitar to mod w/ P-rails (well, I did succeed in getting the guitar - I just like the pups in it so much I can tear it up!!), I have begun planning for a P-rails build.

I WAS going to wait, but I got an unexpected "Award" at my work team meeting last week - and found out yesterday that translated to $500 ... only catch is you can't have the cash, you HAVE to redeem a gift card from a choice of some 200 vendors. Fortunately for me, both Amazon and GC are vendors :)

Well, I just grabbed this from the stratosphere to be the base of my build ... Squier Contemporary Tele HH body

Going to be making the pickups/controls/PG available here on S-T when I receive the body - PM me if you might be interested

I gotta go out now and get the P-rails set, controls, and a neck now :D

Very cool. Always wanted to attempt a p rails build. Looking foreword to see what switching options you use. Always liked the versatility of a p rail.

I have always been curious about the PRails. Seems like they are really cool. They are just expensive. That’s the only thing that has been holding me back. I will be watching!

Not sure what your planning for a neck, but I just got a Strat neck from Kmise and it is really nice. And you can get it from Amazon!

SO many options, holy cow -- I was thinking I would go w/ the triple-shot mounting rings. but after sifting through that vs other options, I came across this control assy by Sigler Music made specifically FOR P-rails! on Amazon, no less - already in the works now :)

I wasn't so sure I wanted switches up on the rings (didn't really seem ergonomic, lol) - should be easier to drive w all the controls in the same spot!

This loaded tele control plate is designed for use with 4 conductor humbucker pickups and features 3-way pickup selector, master volume, master tone, and dual toggle controls. The toggles allow the user to control the humbucker in series and in parallel as well as allowing the user to tap one or the other coils on each pickup. Great for use with Seymour Duncan P-Rails.

    • Chrome Control Plate
    • Chrome Knurled Knobs
    • Genuine CTS 500k Solid Shaft Pots
    • Original CRL 3 Way Switch
    • (2) Mini Toggle On-On Switches
    • .047µF Orange Drop Capacitor
    • Gavitt Vintage cloth wiring

P-rails are one pickup set that I wanna try, that I haven’t yet... but the last thing I need is another project. But that Sigler control plate is giving me some baaaaad ideas... :)
It’ll be cool seeing how your project turns out!

Wow! Nice choice, Seems easier than having to reach the pick up rings to switch.
