    Shipped today! (Halloween)

After such a good experience thus far with the Supro White Holiday
I had to take a chance with it's "Brother from another Mother".
    The Supro Black Holiday.
I do not expect it to quite as unique sounding absent the piezos
but I still expect a high quality "different" guitar.
    Sure looks sharp!!!

And the best part is Alto music has (had) 15 available for $349.99 with hardshell case, and the 10% discount works with this one for a shipped to your door price of $315.99. WOW.

    Back next week with impressions.
And by the way, I have been selling guitars to finance these purchases,
so I haven't really gone crazy!!!
Guitar center is still advertising these for $899.99 without a case???

Or you could have used your Alto Bucks from your White Americana purchase and gotten 15 percent off this idea AFAIK. That is if you did not get 10 percent off the first purchase ... I think.

Some folks prefer the Black to the White, finding that they can get greater total diversity via having two of the unique VistaTone PUPS than the combination of VistaTone and the piezos.

If it had the White's Trem I'd be sorely tempted myself.

I'm not gonna go and drool over it. Jan is across the room and I know what happens when I do that, but I do know it is lovely!

    And again, what a deal!!!

No. As possible we never object. Making each others dreams come true is the theme of our relationship.

But in truth I don't "need" it in any rational sense. I am still trying to find my way with the White Holiday!

But having one of these I can certainly understand wanting two. After all, you have two eyes and two ears. There must be a lesson to be found in that! :D

Delivered this morning during a gentle mid-autumn snowfall.
    Playing as we speak.
    Back soon for shared observations.
A work of art for the eyes!!!

You think they’re counterfeiting these now? That’s a crazy deal. Wish they’d do something else with that headstock though. The rest is killer.

If they did "something else" with that headstock,
it wouldn't be a Supro :) Sort of a love/hate kind of thing. I love it!

    OK,
a very brief review before bed.
For me, it's another really good guitar.
Despite the similarity to its sister (White Holiday) very different in a few ways.
Two single coil pickups (no piezo) no vibrato, (One pound Lighter) very different vibe. Feels the same, neck profile, body shape etc. But still quite different.

Duceditior is so much better at putting into words these kinds of things. I should ship my guitar to him, and let him take it for a spin around the block. But the short story is,
again for me, a quality build,
    great tones, lots of fun,
and did I mention, a heck of a good deal!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I have joined the madness. (This because to not to have seemed yet madder!)

I love my White Holiday so much that having this somewhat different variation just seemed to good to pass up. Then add to that that Alto had given me "points" from my last purchase, PLUS that they'd refunded me $35 bucks as a Paypal credit because of the minor case damage (caused by the vibrato) on the White -- so I was able to get this with the case for about $280. What a wowza!

How good a deal is that? This is without the case...

    Screen Shot 2018-11-07 at 8.49.03 AM.png

The case was selling for $160 (but now is available for as low as $120).

Do the math. How could I pass?

I iz becoming a Supro guy. Just can't help myself. (and my good lady again is abetting me!) :)

I had a feeling you might go for this.
Really a deal too good to pass up, and I think you will appreciate the distinct differences between the two. (They are different!!)

My biggest curiosity thus far is the volume and tone knob sweep.
Sort of an either "off or on" type of deal, little variation?
More of an amp control kind of thing.
Just my guitar? I do not know.
Can't wait for your thoughtful review!!!

P1020514.JPG P1020507.JPG A few oddities about my guitar.

This batch of cases is missing the Supro logo?
(Already working on a stencil to correct this minor oversight)
Mine included the unexpected Sweetwater 55 point inspection card :) Huh???

Alto explained this was likely in stock at Sweetwater, inspected by them, and returned to Supro as unsold stock.
Unlike my White Holiday, this one has the plastic protective covering on the pickguard but was absent the paper covering on the strings.

No big deal, just observations perhaps worth sharing.

That makes absolute sense. It's the sort'a deals large dealers make with the makers/distributors. It what allows super deals like this to happen.

Yeah, it's also somewhat like feasting on the dead. But such is life (if you'll allow for the inherent contradiction).

    Funny about the missing stencil!

I care not about such things. All that matters to me is the instrument. Yes, and that it carries the full manufacturers warranty. (Although in fact I've not used such thing since I had to with Guild Guitars back in 1965.)

    :D

    Rock on!
