meh, sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but my acquisition of my first Squier Stratocaster was partially influenced by my brother, but also by seeing Dave Simpson's review of the Fiesta Red HT IL SSS :)

So much so, that I just bought another on Tuesday!! I now have two.. and MAN are there some differences in build quality...

Calm down everyone. @Eddie literally means "new" guitars. He'll keep buying lots and lots of used ones.

Ahh yes, technically correct. The best kind of correct.

  4. Lemme guess … Long and McQuade? I've thought about it too. So far that's all I've done.

You got it Barrie! I talked to a sales rep last week, if something needs to be ordered from Fender all I need is a 10% deposit. Then it's up to 20 business days for it to arrive, so my plan is to hopefully get it on Labour Day week, which is my birthday!

  6. Ooooh … sounds like a plan. :D Keep us posted brother.
    Cheers, Barrie.

    Very nice indeed. Pre-congratulations!
Is that a vintage Violin burst color?

The Yamaha Pacifica in this coloring is BEAUTIFUL!!

Fender's site just calls it three tone sunburst. Since I am ordering this guitar blind, I can only hope it has that nice of grain and finish.

I do go through phases with GAS. Now is one of those times. It will subside for 6 months, or so, and then BOOM.....it's back again!

I just think there's a ton of us, lol...
    Since I got here about a year and a half ago I've gotten;

-My vintage blonde '50's CV Tele (best guitar I own)
-That dumpster fire "IYV" Ibanez clone that has been my only Amazon return
-My Bullet Mustang (to replace said dumpster fire)
    - The SE that I stripped and rebuilt
    - The Harley Benton TE-90 QM

And that's it... Well, I'm workin on somethin with @Kenneth Mountain, but, 5 NGDs in a year and a half ain't too bad... But then again, I've never sold a guitar, either... I'm horrible at it, lol...

    Incoming NGD.

I put my 10% down on the Player Strat! If I'm really lucky it will arrive in August and I can get 0% financing over 6 months.

Funny, I found and joined this site April 26 when I found the blue Affinity deal with amp for $50. Only one I had before that was the black NC4.
Since then I have bought 3 and flipped 2. Damm you guys !

    Ehem...
And I have to sell an Affinity or two ...
And an amp or two. :) :) :)

I should, nay I must, decrease superfluous, redundant, equipment.

And get it into someone's hands who will use it. :) :) :)

Outside of a small flurry of buying activity my birthday week, I've backed way off the buying of guitars. I already have a bunch of NC's awaiting their mods, and the pickups and such to make them. Hopefully when I get out of here, I will fewewl aell enough to get to all the backed up soldering that I need to do. I still have to custom fit a pickguard for the triple lipsticks. and find a neck to use on my very modified '55. (and finish custom fitting the single lipstick in the pickguard, the HB is already fitted.)

Of course if money on hand corresponds with: Firebird, set neck, mini-hum; Thunderbird, set neck; P90 SG, set neck; custom P90 Tele, rosewood neck; all bets are off. :D

    Graduation gift for nephew:
My nephew is visiting. He just graduated HS and will start college in the fall.

He has been playing violin and violla for approx 10 years.

I introduced him to the electric guitar, etc. a few days ago.

One of my Squier Strat Affinity series will be his graduation gift.
