New small amp day. I bought a brand new Vox Pathfinder 10 about two weeks ago.
I wanted to use it and make sure it was a keeper and I am very happy with this amp.
I paid $109.00 CAN ($82 USD) on Amazon. I wanted a small amp for the summer.

I play in a small room and it gets very hot and humid here in the summer.
I have a portable AC but, still my Mono15 tube amp adds heat in the room.
The Vox Pathfinder sounds amazing. The clean sound is incredibly good.
It sounds very good with gain also but the 6,5 speaker is better for clean tone.

So I unplugged the speaker from the Vox and I am using my old Marshall as a cab.
I upgraded my old Marshall Lead 12 with a brand new Celestion G10N-40.
The Lead 12 sounds much better and as a cab for the Vox it sounds amazing.

I love my little Mini Super Beetle. It uses the NuTube technology in the preamp section. I did replace the stock Celestion 10" speaker with a Jensen and it really bolstered the low end. Frankly it sounds as good to me as any of my small tube amps.

I have done a similar thing, I added a switch to cut the built in speaker and a cable to feed to these 2 x 10 80 watt Phonic speakers. They also have horn tweeters, it sounds amazing. [IMG]

Cool! Can you please show me a picture of the switch you installed to cut the original speaker? Easy job to do?

Yes it's a very easy job. I just unscrewed the bottom section and mounted this small switch, connected to the built in speaker so if it's on the built in speaker works and I can switch it off when I use the cab speakers. The cable you see is from the amp speaker wires to the cabs. What's cool about this is that if I take the pathfinder out and don't want to take the cab speakers, just switch the built in speaker on, so good to go.
Hope I've explained it properly, I also just tacked the cables to the inside of the amp just to keep it tidy. Works like a dream and changes the sound of this little amp dramatically.[IMG]

Today I had nothing to do and thought I'll upgrade this mod I did to the pathfinder, so I fitted a speaker out plug and put in a new better switch which cuts the built in speaker , thought I would just share a pic, it's really much better because now I can plug into other speaker cabs without having to mess with wiring. Anyway it worked out great.[IMG]
