As the conspiracy theorists go, this is how the vintage guitar market is controlled.

I'm not much in cospiracy theories. But the thought did cross my mind.

I also don't care for conspiracy theories much, but my first thought was "They're only "rare," because THEY bought them all"

I find something disturbing about this video. First what good are they in a warehouse.

Is he going to sell them so he can retire?
Is he going to give them to his kids when he is gone?
    is he a hoarder?

Or just a nut with money?

A couple years ago, at the Dallas guitar show, I sold Norm a ‘56 Gibson ES125 that was in terrible shape but he bought it. Probably in one of those storage barns and it will never see the light of day. It was not worth the price to repair it so I know it’s just gonna die in there. But he had to have it. A few months ago I was in his store and there was one exactly like it on the shop floor but it was pristine. I had to check the serial number just to assure myself that it wasn’t mine.

Man... it would be interesting to know what % of Fender’s output is in those boxes...

A dealer hangs them up in a store and sells them for a few dollars more than what he paid for, a hoarder keeps them in boxes in a warehouse.

I'll hand it to Normie - he knows how to combine hoarding with the twin devils of myth and nostalgia like few others, and make a living out of it. Kudos.

I think this guy makes a big deal out of a Fender,

Just here in Queens we have several hundred pawn shops, each one selling around 20-50 Fenders of different shapes and models, now times that by the four other burroughs here in NY and that is just one city. a Fender is worth only what someone will pay for them, like a coin or a subway sandwich.

I purchase Squiers to play, not to leave to my kids (they can buy one if they want), not to hang on a wall and say "see how pretty they look", but to PLAY!

Think how may aspiring guitar players would benefit if he would only donate them. Thus keeping the sprite of Fender alive and not just a box in a warehouse.

Whatever. On the video he says they are in storage while they do some re-modeling on the store. Collectible dealers of any type usually don’t keep everything they have for sale on display all the time.

But maybe you’re right. Maybe he’s a nut.
