I love Gibsons/Epis in others hands, but I just can't make them sound good. I guess it's because I've been playing Fender style guitars for so many decades that my whole approach to how I attack/interact with the strings is predicated on the sound and feel of single coils.
I really envy those of you who can switch back and forth with ease, and can make both sing sweetly.

Wish I could say I was able to do that. Just learning the whole Gibson thing!

LOL! Don’t envy me, I switch back and forth, but I don’t sound very good on either! :(

I really like the way your Gibson sounds, hopefully in time, it will grow on you and you will like it :) it cost so much money, I hope you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of it and amazing preformance

It’s gonna be different to your Tele but I hope you will like it :) if I was gonna get a Gibson and could have any, I’d probably go for one of them. Sounds better than the usual but it is down to personal preference.

Hope it grows on you and have a happy new guitar day :D

Thanks! I have heard lots of praise for the 57s. In my short time with the guitar, I'm really loving them!

Beauty, but I'd still like to see yours. I think those are the best looking tops in the LP world.

Yeah, my 98 Goldtop 60 Re-issue had the 500T, 496R....which is nothing like 1960 LP pickups.....so I changed them out for SD Seth Lover N and SD Antiquity B, for a more vintage correct sound. Wow, how the pleasant old school PAF harmonics appeared. Best upgrade I have ever done with any of my guitars (close second was slapping SD SSL-5 and two CS 69's in my black Strat....but I digress).
    Sweet looking blue baby there!!!

I'll post a picture -- as a fellow Canadian you'll know that Winter daylight hours are short and I'll leave for work, and come home, in the dark today. Daylight photo Saturday. Promise!

Also like what's behind the guitar in the top picture. Canadian Club whiskey and some sort of tweed amp? How is the Les Paul through the Fender (if that's what it is)?

Good for you - both on a great wife and a new LP! I agree with you on the "better" and with Papa Joe on the "different". The guitars seem to rotate on the various stands around the house. The gretsch isn;t the les paul which isn't the american strat....but the one that sits next to the amp is a super cheap bullet that has gotten some TLC.

    - Resale value of all my guitars is zero - not thinking of getting rid of anything unless there is a family emergency
    - Have a great wife who got me a gretsch last year

Enjoy the guitar and the smile on your beloved bride's face when she sees you playing it. That is my favorite thing about the gretsch.
