I’ve been wanting one of these for a while, and one came up on fb and I jumped on it. No fretwear, but quite a few dings. Looks like it laid out but was never played. Also, it’s really dirty. I need to do a full tear-down to get the funk off.

Anyone know any good setup tips? I got my Bass VI setup recently, so I feel somewhat competent, but any deep secrets out there?

Congratulations. The JM JM has one of the best necks I've ever played. Wish I could help with the tremolo set up, but that's the reason I sold my JM.There are tons of videos, and a lot of knowledgable folks out there.

Sweet. I've been jonesin' for one of these two.

Are all the JM JMs the same? I remember reading somewhere that some people consider a certain vintage better than the others but that was on the internet which we all know can be full of hooey at times.

I have enjoyed mine. I swapped out the gold anodized pick guard for a black anodized… And put locking tuners on it… And Wilkinson roller bridge… It’s a pretty fantastic guitar

Mine is a 2016 model. Not sure how they stack up year-to-year.

That looks lovely. I'd say get it set up properly, either by yourself if you can or find a competent repairer who can do a good job. New set of strings and then go from there.

Don't be too quick to swap out the pickups, I have a set of them in a JM parts guitar and they are lovely.

There are a few mods that can be done to the vibrato to make it work better too, if it hasn't got things like a BuzzStop or special saddles.

    Enjoy that lovely guitar. Loud!!
