    Well, it came today.
Should have been a happy occasion, but not quite.
First the good. It's actually a very nice guitar.
Good sounds from the Duncan Designed humbuckers.
The blend knob adds some cool tones.
    Fit and finish very good.
Not my favorite color, but..... I could learn to like it.

The not so good, is how the inside of the box looked. Not a good sign.
This was right after I removed the guitar.:(

And then of course for no extra charge, they threw in those classic neck cracks.
    ARGH!!!!!

It was a used guitar from Amazon, listed in "Very good condition".
    Don't think so!!
Can not say for sure if this happened on it's way to me,
or was returned this way, and someone just shipped it out again.

Needless to say, back it goes.
But if I get another chance, and the price is right, I will likely get another.
It is a rather "Cool Guitar" for sure.

That’s a drag for sure. Do they go through?

    Such a bummer!

Your post had be doing a search about these guitars and I really liked what I saw!

Hope you can easily get that resolved! (With Amazon behind you such should be no issue.)

    It does.
    A 1940 Zenith console.
Too bad no stations up here play any Glen Miller tunes.
And here is an original 1936 Silvertone tabletop that also works.

If I'd not overpushed my guitar budget I'd definitely been interested. Especially the model with DeArmond PUPS.

    Just so.... Sears `60s! :D

    A happy ending?
After a bit of back and forth with Amazon, we had what is often called a "meeting of the minds" And a Brand new Silvertone 1423 is on the way to me. This is good news, as I really do like this "Funky repro" from another long ago era. Fingers crossed it does not come with a cracked neck. Stay tuned.
