Ok, so, technically the Showmaster is a couple weeks old (to me) and went into storage right away, as we prepare to sell our house and eventually move, but I wanted to wait to post it until I found a buddy for it.

These are there stories (dun dun)

I posted a while back about a local fellow selling quite a few Squiers. I thought this Showmaster looked cool and brought it home.

    It’s a Rally HH.
I’ve done nothing to it, apart from taking the photos and packing it away.

I love the headstock on those. How does it play?

I didn’t play it at all before putting it away. Will definitely report back after I move.

So, the story continues, I had one 3x3 headstock Squier. With no buddy for it, I decided to keep my eye for...something.

Then @chefjeff came along seeking a red Strat. And I sent him...

...this Contemporary. It was a HH, but had issues when I bought it, so the pickguard was replaced with one from the HSS model.

    In return he sent me...

I have had some time with the Esprit, and it is easily one of my favorite guitars now. I need to play with the pickup heights because the bridge is way outclassing the neck pup right now, but that’s an easy fix.

I think it was a pretty fair trade. I sent along the original pickguard pups and some spare pots with the Strat.

Wow, block inlays and 4 knobs, talk about keeping up with the Gibsons. Tuneomatic bridge even.

Very cool Squier model, never even seen one before.

I believe the Fender Esprit was the basis for the Robben Ford model.

Congrats, hoss!!! Both those are awesome! That exact showmaster inspired me to do another guitar with almost that exact same pattern... Knew I saw it somewhere on a Squier... Mark my words, I will have one of these eventually... And the Espirit is really cool too... Always wanted one, and an M-80...

Congrats on the esprit, they don't turn up very often, people usually hang on to them once they get them.

I had never seen one irl until I had this in my house. I knew vaguely of them from forum posts and discussions online.

It was risk, but I’ve played loads of MIK guitars and loved almost all of them, so it didn’t seem like a crazy gamble.
