I've been able to cull down my collection to a reasonable level. Figured it was time to grow the herd again. :)

Picked up this nice Jackson JS32 7 string. It arrived today so I haven't had too much time to play it. But for now, it's good to go.

My previous attempts at 7 strings failed miserably. But I think this guy may stick a bit. It definitely has the metallic edge that I want. The other ones were too muddy ... especially the Epi LP7.

Gonna take some time to get used to, but now I have a toy that'll hold my interest for awhile. As always, I just need to put more time into it.

If you edit that post you'll see 3 bracketed instances of the picture's filename. Backspace over, or delete 2 of them [brackets too] and save, and you should be left with one instance of the pic.

Congrats! Hope you like this one. I have never played a seven string. Hell, I haven’t figured out what to do with six strings yet! LOL!

I like the headstock, even though it's no trad Jackson

It's got some nice bite. Not muddy ... even with the mid-scoop EQ setting.

This was definitely meant for a more metallic edge.

Can't wait to get home from work and play a bit. :)

I've been looking at a 7 string as my next purchase as well- but may just end up modding a Squier to do B-B instead.

If I go 7 string it will be this beautiful Charvel- the only 7 in the whole Charvel lineup.

Yeah, it's a bit expensive. That's why I'm really leaning toward modifying a Squier instead but a man always needs something to GAS for.

Maybe something for me to upgrade to in the future if I can get the Jackson 7 down pat. :)

If Keef played a Jackson, would it be a Jackson 5?

    Nice guitar @Eddie

Happy new guitar day. I've got a JS22-7 Dinky myself. Out of the box they are a pretty good player. The pickups are serviceable, if a little one dimensional, but will do the metal stuff well. The tuners are rubbish, so I upgraded to a set of Jin-Ho locking tuners, and that made a huge difference. I've also got a set of Seymour Duncan Alpha and Omega pickups in the guitar now, and they are brilliant.

Do the locking tuners fit right in? Any drilling? I have drillaphobia.

Yeah they did, the stock one's are Gotoh style, and I got the Jin-Hos in a custom set to match the frustrating non-standard Jackson headstock layout.
